Biography

Kazuhiro Ohkura received the B.S., M.S., and Ph.D. degrees in computer science from Hokkaido University, Sapporo, Japan, in 1988, 1990, and 1997, respectively.,He is an Associate Professor in the Department of Mechanical Engineering, Kobe University, Kobe, Japan. Before joining Kobe University as a Research Associate in 1993, he was with Fujitsu Laboratories, Ltd. for three years. In 1998, he was a Visiting Research Fellow in the School of Cognitive and Computing Science, University of Sussex, U.K. His research interests are evolutionary computation, reinforcement learning, artificial life, robotics, and manufacturing systems.
