Renato Silvano AM , Associate professor in the Department of Ecology of the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS) in Porto Alegre, Brazil.  Also participated in the Non-governmental organization (NGO) Fisheries and Food (FIFO) (Campinas, Brazil). Done research on Fisheries management and ecology, Fish ecology, Human Ecology and Ethnobiology. Doctor degree in Ecology at the University of Campinas, Brazil and post-doc in the University of Queensland, Australia.
