Biography

The BICEPS lab focusses on designing and developing technologies and clinical approaches to promote the maintenance of the body’s key mechanosensitive tissues in states of inherent mechanical dysfunction such as occurs in old age, or in response to imposed immobilization, because of injury, disease or human spaceflight. We are also exploiting magnetic fields to promote mitochondrial respiration and downstream developmental and survival adaptations via a process known as Magnetic Mitohormesis.
