Biography

Dr Benji Compton's current research focus is on developing new vaccines for malaria and influenza, as well as vaccines that can aid drug addiction. The basis of this work is his work investigating novel glycolipid compounds that modulate the human immune system. As part of a collaborative research programme with the Malaghan Institute of Medical Research, his research has helped create of new vaccine platform that instructs the immune system to "search and destroy" certain targets such as cancerous cells.
