Biography

Hiroyuki Aburatani, MD, PhD, is currently a Professor of Genome Science at the Research Center for Advanced Science and Technology, the University of Tokyo since 2003. Professor Aburatani studied medicine at Tokyo University and graduated in 1980. After he completed a clinical internship in Tokyo University medical school hospital and took a specialty training for hepatology at Tokyo metropolitan Komagome hospital, he studied plasma lipoprotein gene polymorphisms in relation to cardiovascular diseases at Tokyo University medical school and received his PhD degree in Internal medicine in 1988.
